With over 200,000 Member Veterans and supporters nationwide, IAVA's role is to support the 2.4 million veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. ==Executive Director and Founder== Paul Rieckhoff is the group's Executive Director and Founder. He served as a First Lieutenant and infantry rifle platoon leader in the Iraq war from 2003-2004. He is also the author of ''Chasing Ghosts.'' Prior to going to Iraq, Rieckhoff worked as a high school football coach and on Wall Street.
